From water conservation and climate change to electric cars and energy efficiency – sustainability has moved from concept to implementation. California government is leading the way - and in many cases, sustainability is either being mandated or highly incentivized. The 2010 Green California Summit, the largest green government conference and exposition, is taking place at the Sacramento Convention Center March 15-17. March 15 is a pre-Summit day with in-depth full-day workshops and other special events. March 16 & 17 are the Summit and Expo dates.

The Green California Summit is the place to learn directly from the policy makers, government agencies, facilities managers, architects, engineers and product suppliers what the path ahead looks like and how to make the most of what’s coming. Educational sessions will cover topics ranging from California’s new green building codes, to plans for a “smart grid,” to the proliferation of green business incubators throughout the state.

The Summit, now in its fourth year, will feature over 200 exhibitors, and more than 6,000 attendees are expected. The March 16 program will include the fourth annual Green California Leadership Awards, an event that acknowledges projects exemplifying the best of green California.
